Sound & letter recognition





LEARNING BENEFITS:

·       To learn to say the letter sound

·       To learn to recognize the letter for the sound

Instructions:

Start by placing a chosen letter in the top box.

Place other letters in the rest of the smaller boxes.

Show your child the chosen letter and say aloud the sound it makes. For example, this is ‘s’.

Ask your child to look at the other letters, one row at a time and find the same letter. If they find one, they can keep it to one side and move on to the next row.

Continue till all the matching letters have been found.

Next, start again with a new letter this time.


Carry on as above.

Positional Language on a Grid LEARNING BENEFITS: ·        Speaking and following spoken directions ·        Learning one-step direction using positional language (above, under, next to, top corner and bottom corner) Instructions: Show the child that the flower is in the center of the grid.
