Positional Language
A positional word is a word that describes
where an object is. Some examples of positional words are on top, under,
behind, in front of, next to, in between, outside and inside.

Instructions:
Give the child
the Ladybug and flower.
Begin the
following clues:

the flower on top

the flower under

ladybug

the flower above

the flower below
Now add the fish to the game with the following
instruction:

put
the flower in between the
ladybug and fish
Young children naturally enjoy this type of game and
will also take pleasure in giving directions. Now let them give you clues using
positional language.
